Job Description

Job Summary
To supervise all projects assigned to him/her ensuring each is completed in accordance with the plans and specifications, within the confines of the budget, and in accordance with the project’s time schedule.
Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participate in estimating and project budgeting.
  • Supervise the set up and close out of all construction projects.
  • Make routine job site visits in order to ensure job site logistics and infrastructure are in order.
  • Assist with developing project construction schedules; make job site visits to ensure accuracy.
  • Schedule and layout jobs, and assist in negotiating contract amounts with contractors.
  • See that terms of contracts, proper standards of workmanship (including efficient installation methods), and maximum productivity are maintained on the job site.
  • Coordinate job site delivery of materials, tools, and equipment, including supervision of receiving and checking against purchase orders through Estimator/Foreman.
  • Coordinate with outside municipalities and utility companies as needed for job site support.
  • Maintain accurate cost control records.
  • Assist the superintendent’s with maintaining safe and healthful working conditions on the job site as required by the Occupations Safety and Health Agency.
  • Review contract payment applications and change orders as necessary.
  • Assist with closeout including punch list and Certificate of Completion.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining Schedule of Values and budget for projects.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining construction schedules for projects.
  • Coordinate bidding procedures from beginning to end.
  • Supervise RFI and submittal process.
  • Assist with plan distribution.
  • Assist in maintaining project logs.
  • Any additional assignments given by Sr. Project Manager in normal and routine conduct of business.
  • Make sure job files, folders and documents are organized.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software, a plus
  • Able to work in a diverse environment
  • Highly motivated individual who can work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented, articulate, and able to multi-task.
  • Working knowledge of all disciplines of construction and design.
  • Basic to advanced mathematical skills.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The minimum requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of four years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyzes, analyzes, and interprets general business documents, technical procedures, or regulations. The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure directives. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
